The founders of TAP® Pest Control Insulation designed the product with two main principles in mind:

Principally made from recycled paper, TAP® Pest Control Insulation uses borates as the active pest control ingredient. Borates are mineral salts mined from the earth and are commonly used in many consumer products such as contact lens solution and anti-fungal creams. Borates are deadly to insects yet have extremely low toxicity to mammals. Therefore, the risk is minimal to people and pets.
Unlike most traditional pesticide chemicals, TAP® Pest Control Insulation is applied behind walls and in attics where exposure to people and pets is extremely limited.
